Nepal's Professional Society for Autism Spectrum Disorder
Autism in Nepal is dedicated to providing accurate, up-to-date information, resources, and practical guidance for professionals, caregivers, and families supporting individuals with autism in Nepal. Our goal is to bridge the gap between global research and local practice, making it easier for those on the front lines — educators, therapists, healthcare workers, and parents — to access the knowledge they need. Here, you'll find the latest research and developments in autism care, along with insights into how other countries are approaching diagnosis, intervention, and support. By bringing this global knowledge into a Nepali context, we hope to strengthen understanding, improve access to services, and help build a more inclusive environment for individuals with autism across Nepal.
How we began
Founded by Visionaries Who Saw the Gap
Autism in Nepal was founded in 2025 by two individuals who recognized a critical gap in how autism is understood and supported in developing countries like Nepal. While developed nations have made significant progress with modern, evidence-based approaches to autism care, many families and professionals in Nepal continue to face this journey without adequate resources or accurate information — often left without clear direction on how best to support their children and communities. This gap inspired the creation of Autism in Nepal: a platform built to close that divide by bringing reliable, accessible information and practical guidance to parents, caregivers, and professionals across the country.
Today, Autism In Nepal is the country's primary professional body for ASD setting clinical guidelines, training practitioners across all seven provinces, conducting original research, and advocating for evidence-based policy at the national level.

Accredited CPD & Training
Nepal Medical Council-recognised CPD workshops covering ADOS-2 administration, DSM-5 diagnostic criteria, ABA fundamentals, and evidence-based intervention planning.
Public Health & Policy Advocacy
Engagement with the Ministry of Health, WHO Nepal, and UNICEF to integrate ASD screening into Nepal's national child health programme and shape inclusive policy.
